About us
Who are we?
Hermitage is a happy and vibrant one-and-a-half form entry primary school in historic Wapping, just a short walk from the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, and St Katharine’s Docks. We are part of the LETTA Trust, a family of five primary schools and SCITT, and we work hard to ensure our pupils make the most of our amazing location.
Our pupils are at the heart of everything we do. They are friendly, well-behaved, and come from a diverse range of backgrounds. They love learning, and by the time they leave us, they are achieving results that are above the national average.
Everyone feels like they belong at Hermitage, and this is the foundation from which we build everything else.
In short, what defines us is our:
- High aspirations & achievement for all pupils
- Rich, varied and creative curriculum
- Inclusive culture & specialist unit on site for autistic children
- Excellent professional development opportunities for staff
- Strong community links, including with parents
- Effective partnerships
This is the school's vision statement

We are all different, and we are all equal
Hermitage is a multi-faith, multi-cultural, multi-lingual schools, with pupils and staff hailing from nearly 20 different countries & practising many faiths. This has a very positive impact on the school; we feel extraordinarily lucky to be so diverse. Our motto is “We are all different, and we are all equal”. We recognise just how much we can learn from one another, our differences can be where we find our biggest strengths & ultimately just how similar we all are.
